Melissa Paschke LCSW

Melissa Paschke is one of the lead therapists at Brooklyn PPD Support. Melissa has generously agreed to see patients of The First Month at the Premier offices for three sessions at a discounted rate to help new moms bridge this trying time. She also moderates groups for parents struggling with a peripartum depression or anxiety. These groups are held at the Premier offices as well as other locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Melissa has been practicing medical social work since 1994. She is also a mother of two boys and a certified yoga instructor.

Dr. Birndorf specializes in Reproductive Psychiatry, an important area in mental health which helps women with emotional and psychiatric conditions throughout the life cycle. Dr. Birndorf helps patients understand their specific psychiatric problems during times of hormonal changes from menses to menopause. She works with her patients and their families to focus on these psychiatric issues and provides a range of treatment options during times of transition in a woman’s life.

David Gandler MD

Dr. David Gandler is a board certified psychiatrist who has been in practice on the upper east side of New York City since 1984. He has extensive training in psychopharmacology and is particularly in tuned to the sensitive issues regarding medication safety and breastfeeding. Dr. Hermann is an Instructor in Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine as well as an Assistant Attending Psychiatrist in the Emergency Department at New York Presbyterian Hospital.  She maintains a clinical practice in General Adult Psychiatry and Reproductive Psychiatry and is open for consultations, psychotherapy, and medication management.  She has a strong interest in helping parents in the peripartum period.

Dr. Bleiberg is a clinical psychologist and an Associate Professor of Psychology in Clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where she has a private practice, teaches, and consults in the Payne Whitney Women’s Program. She has expertise in the evaluation and psychotherapeutic treatment of depression related to pregnancy and the postpartum period, and pregnancy loss. Dr. Bleiberg works with individuals and couples.
